Who would’ve thought so
This weekend i had my first approach to 25 man raiding. I went on a Gruul’s run, which may or may not turn into a regular spot, and then i got a regular spot on an SSC/TK raid. The strange thing about that is that both of those spots were not as a tank, but as dps.
I had been looking for weeks for a 25 man raid, and it seemed no one needed tanks. If you think about it, it makes sense. A tank can make or break a raid, and so, leaders will do everything in their powers to keep their tanks.
So, when they asked me to respec, i went ahead and did it. I have to say that 25 man raiding feels almost like a different game. Boss fights are LONG, and they make everything in Kara feel like a tank and spank. Leotheras The Blind, for example, has 2 different forms of aggro wipes: once when he changes forms and once when he whirlwinds. Melee dps has to spend a lot of the fight running away from the whirlwind, which makes it a bit chaotic, and on top of that he summons “inner demons” for 5 people in the raid, who have to kill them quickly or become mind controlled for the length of the fight.
Overall, it’s a lot of fun, and a whole new experience in the game.
